Emanuel “Manny” Lo Galbo, 72, of Valparaiso, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Manny was born on October 23, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, and though his journey took him south later in life, his heart always belonged to Chicago and its vibrant communities. Manny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Manny leaves behind a loving family: his wife of 43 years, Kathleen Lo Galbo; his children, Deanna Dukes, Jonathan Lo Galbo; and his cherished granddaughter, Ashleigh Dukes. Manny retired with pride from serving three decades in the City of Chicago through Streets and Sanitation. Whether he was at home with his beloved Kathleen, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or recalling a seemingly endless trove of sports statistics. Manny delighted in sharing his love for golf and hockey, often spending weekends on the course or cheering from the stands.
